A Republican Congressman is facing fierce backlash after sharing his family’s Christmas photo– showing himself, his wife and his kids brandishing guns in the wake of a deadly school shooting in Michigan.
On Twitter, Representative Thomas Massie, a Kentucky Republican, captioned the photo “Merry Christmas! ps. Santa, please bring ammo.”

Gun control activists condemned Massie’s photo, including Fred Guttenberg, whose daughter Jamie was killed in the 2018 shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. ”
Since we are sharing family photos, here are mine,” Futtenberg tweeted, sharing one photo of Jamie before she died, and one of her gravestone.
“One is the last photo that I ever took of Jaime, the other is where she is buried because of the Parkland school shooting,” Guttenberg wrote. “The Michigan school shooter and his family used to take photos like yours as well.”
One Twitter user responded to the poorly-timed tweet by photoshopping the guns out of the photo and replacing them with large dildos.
"This man, a US Republican representative, is pretending waving guns around is a Christmas family activity, just days after yet another school gun massacre in the US. No words for such gloating evil." – @JKSteinberger

@RepThomasMassie perhaps if you supplied the Massie women with these or the men with pumps, all those women wouldn't look so unfulfilled.

Maybe you can invite them to join you for Christmas dinner if they get out on bail. Seems you have an obsession in common. pic.twitter.com/WIK9IIBKr9
