Leslie Jordan Backs Meghan And Harry After Bombshell Interview: ‘The Gays Have Got Your Back’

“Will and Grace” star Leslie Jordan came out in support of Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry after they opened up about their decision to step back as senior members of the royal family in a bombshell interview with Orpah Winfrey that debuted on CBS News late Sunday.

In a video posted to Instagram late Sunday, signing on as “Leslie Allen Jordan, reporting for duty,” the actor backed Meghan and Harry after they discussed the struggles they faced in the palace and with British tabloids after they tied the knot several years ago.

“I’ve been watching this Oprah interview with Meghan Markle woo-hoo! Sh-t’s getting real. She needs to speak her truth. That’s wonderful,” the “Will and Grace” actor began in the short clip, which has so far racked up more half a million views in less than a day.

“I hope those kids know what they’re getting into,” Jordan continued. “But I will say this, listen. Gays, we gays, we know drama better than anybody. We got her back. Yes, ma’am.”

“Miss Markle, the gays have got your back in this royal battle,” he laughingly reiterated at the end of the clip.

In the interview, Meghan discussed experiencing suicidal thoughts as she faced intense scrutiny from the press as a senior member of the royal family.

At one point, the duchess revealed that she sought help from “one of the most senior people” in the institution for mental health resources but said none was provided.

Meghan, whose mother is Black and father is white, also revealed in the interview that there were discussions in the royal family when she was pregnant with Archie, whom she gave birth to in 2019, about “how dark his skin might be.”

According to CNN, the interview, which lasted two hours, racked up more than 17 million viewers in the U.S. alone.
