In Desperate Meltdown, Trump Told Pence ‘You Can Go Down In History As A Pus*y’

Hours before the deadly Capitol riots, President Trump made one last desperate attempt at convincing Vice President Mike Pence to try and overturn the election—telling him, “You can either go down in history as a patriot, or you can go down in history as a pussy.”

That’s according to a New York Times report with new details about the growing divide between Pence and Trump.

After Pence rebuffed Trump’s demand and headed to the Capitol to oversee the Electoral College count, Trump publicly lashed out at him in the speech that incited a mob to storm the building — some of them chanting “Hang Mike Pence.”

“Evacuated to the basement, Mr. Pence huddled for hours while Mr. Trump tweeted out an attack on him rather than call to check on his safety,” reports the Times. “It was an extraordinary rupture of a partnership that had survived too many challenges to count.”

The newspaper says that five days after the riots, Pence returned to the West Wing and was invited that evening to meet with Trump.

“The official description of the hourlong conversation was ‘good’; the unofficial description was ‘nonsubstantive’ and ‘stilted,’” the Times wrote.
