A police officer in St Joseph, Missouri, has been placed on administrative duty after a viral video clip showed him threatening to cause physical harm to a citizen while off duty.
The St. Joseph Police Department has received and reviewed a portion of a video clip from Sunday, which shows an off-duty officer involved in a verbal altercation with a citizen after a minor car accident, reports the St. Joseph Post.
The officer has been identified as Brandon Harrison, who has been a member of the St. Joseph Police Department since January 7, 2019.
In the viral TikTok video, Harrison, who is seen wearing a blue and white “Trump 2020” hat, unleashes an expletive-tirade while telling the man to “sit the f*ck down.”
“Please get out of my face,” the man responds as he backs away from Harrison.
“Sit down,” Harrison yells at the man as he comes within inches of his face. “You just hit my f*cking car. Sit the f*ck down!”
“I’m not working right now. I’m on vacation. I will f*ck you up,” Harrison responds after the man attempts to speak to the female uniformed officer who had arrived on the scene.
The uniformed officer then tells the man to follow Harrison’s instructions while ignoring his threats.
“Sit down, do what he says,” she says. “Sit down.”
“You don’t f*cking lie to her about that b*llshit,” Harrison yells at the man, who takes a seat on the curb. “I just watched you hit me. Tell that to a f*cking judge.”
“I will,” the man responds.
“See who they fucking believe, bitch,” Harrison tells man, appearing to brag that a judge would take the word of a police officer over that of a citizen.
“Hey, will you get out of my vehicle please?” the man asks as Harrison and the female officer appear to go through the man’s vehicle.
Meet off duty police officer Brandon Harrison of St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was in a car accident with the other man you see in this video. And this is how he responded.

“According to the police department, the details of the incident are currently being investigated and the involved officer has been relieved from official police duties and placed on administrative duty, pending the outcome of the investigation,” the local paper reports.
“Police Officers are the most conspicuous representatives of government and, to the majority of people, they are a symbol of stability and authority upon which they can rely,” says St. Joseph Police Capt. Jeff Wilson in an email. ” Unbecoming conduct on the part of police officers adversely affects the operations of the Department and ultimately destroys public confidence in it. All matters involving officer misconduct allegations are and will be investigated by the Department.”
