Actor DJ Qualls has come out as gay in a tweet he sent from the stage of a comedy club.
Qualls, best known for his roles in movies like “Road Trip,” “The New Guy” and on television shows like “Breaking Bad,” “Scrubs,” and “The Big Bang Theory,” tweeted “Yep, I’m gay,” a reference to Ellen’s famous 1997 Time magazine cover when she came out.
“Been gay this whole time,” Qualls tweeted to his fans.
“Tired of worrying about what people would think of me,” he added. “Tired of worrying about what it would do to my career.”
It is 11:20pm. I just came out on stage at a @jimjefferies show in San Diego. Yep, I’m gay. Been gay this whole time. Tired of worrying about what people would think of me. Tired of worrying about what it would do to my career.

While Qualls has not publicly discussed his dating life in past interviews, E! unearthed a 2012 tweet where the actor disagreed with the Pope’s stance on marriage equality.
“Disagree w/the Pope saying gay marriage is a threat to world peace & gender identity but agree w/the gown he wore while saying it,” he tweeted.
