Trump Interrupts National Emergency To Call On NBC To Fire ‘Bad Actress’ Debra Messing

As Hurricane Dorian lashed the coast of North Carolina and South Carolina Thursday, leaving hundreds of thousands of people without power, President Trump took to Twitter to once again attack actress Debra Messing.

The star of “Will & Grace” has called for a full disclosure of Trump’s supporters, arguing that the public should know who is donating to and fundraising for his re-election campaign.

On Thursday, that effort drew the president’s ire, who compared “bad ‘actress’ Debra The Mess Messing” to the 1950s anti-Communist demagogue Sen. Joseph McCarthy.

“Bad ‘actress’ Debra The Mess Messing is in hot water. She wants to create a ‘Blacklist’ of Trump supporters, & is being accused of McCarthyism,” Trump tweeted Thursday during the unfolding national emergency.

Trump went on to call on NBC to fire Messing.

“If Roseanne Barr said what she did, even being on a much higher rated show, she would have been thrown off television,” Trump tweeted.”Will Fake News NBC allow a McCarthy style Racist to continue? ABC fired Roseanne. Watch the double standard!”

Trump also attacked Messing on Sunday as Hurricane Dorian barreled toward the Florida coast as a category 5 hurricane.

“I have not forgotten that when it was announced that I was going to do The Apprentice, and when it then became a big hit, helping NBC’s failed lineup greatly,
@DebraMessing came up to me at an Upfront & profusely thanked me, even calling me ‘Sir.’ ” Trump tweeted on Sunday morning.

“How times have changed!” he added.
