President Trump on Friday told the press that he is “a young, vibrant man” at 72-years-old.
“I just feel like a young man,” Trump told reporters at the White House when asked about whether there is an age factor in the 2020 race. “I’m so young. I can’t believe it. I’m the youngest person. I’m a young, vibrant man.”
Trump then took a swipe at 76-year-old former Vice President Joe Biden, suggesting he may be too old to serve as president.
“I look at Joe, I don’t know about him,” Trump said while nodding and smiling at the press corps.
“I would never say anyone’s too old, but I know they’re all making me look very young, both in terms of age and I think in terms of energy,” he said.
He also said he would “easily” defeat Biden in a presidential race.
Trump was the oldest person ever to become U.S. president when he took office in January 2017 at the age of 70 years and 220 days.
According to the results of Trump’s latest physical earlier this year, doctors revealed that he is clinically obese and now weighs 243 pounds.
According to the results of his physical exam, Trump’s weight increased by four pounds, from 239 to 243 pounds. Trump was advised last year to watch his diet, exercise more and lose weight.
