Trump Jr. Follows Joke About Transgender Children With ‘Hashtag Me Too’ Joke At CPAC

Speaking on a panel at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), Donald Trump Jr. made a “hashtag me too” joke as Liberty University President Jerry Falwell and his wife, Becki Falwell, discussed guns and transgender people.

“By the way, she is a daughter, she’s our granddaughter, and we’re raising her as a girl,” Becki Falwell said about her new granddaughter.

“We’re not letting her have a choice,” she added as the crowd at the conservative convention cheered.

“There will be outrage tomorrow that you decided for her,” Trump Jr. jokingly said in response.

Said Becki Falwell: “It’s God—God makes the choice what babies are going to be. God decided she would be a girl.”

Jerry Falwell then jumped in: “You don’t have to raise them as a girl, she’s got a little baby doll right under her arm every second, and my boys always had guns in their hands,” he said.

Then Trump Jr. jumped in with his #MeToo joke: “Hashtag me too.”

Newsweek notes:

Trump Jr. is an avid hunter and has spoken critically about transgender issues before. Just this week, for instance, he called it a “grave injustice” that two transgender athletes took the top two spots in a Connecticut high school track championship.

“I feel so sorry for the young ladies who trained their whole lives to be the best in their state and to hopefully attain scholarships etc etc… this is a grave injustice,” he tweeted on Monday.
