Kim Jong-Un Smiles And Appears To Laugh When Reporter Asks Trump About Cohen Testimony

President Donald Trump refused to take questions about his former lawyer and fixer Michael Cohen’s testimony before the House Oversight and Reform Committee on Wednesday as he met with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un in Vietnam.

One reporter was heard asking, “Mr. President, do you have any reaction to Michael Cohen and his testimony?”

Trump could be seen shaking his head and saying, “Thank you.”

Fast Company’s Marcus Baram noted that Kim Jong-un reacted by smiling and appearing to laugh at Trump’s reaction to the question.

Watch, his reaction below:

Speaking in Hanoi after his summit with Kim Jong-un broke down, Trump says he takes the North Korean dictator “at his word” that he was not responsible for the death of Otto Warmbier, the American college student who died after being detained in the country in December 2015 during an organized tour and sent back to the U.S. in a coma.

Trump’s remarks sparked bipartisan backlash.

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Adam Schiff (D-Calif.) called the president’s defense of Kim “detestable.”

“Walking away from the summit was better than making a bad deal. It’s also the result of a poorly planned strategy,” Schiff tweeted. “But accepting Kim’s denial of involvement in Warmbier’s death? Detestable, and harkens back to Trump’s duplicitous acceptances of denials from other dictators.”
