Trump Has Some Thoughts On Smollett, Remains Silent On Coast Guard Officer Terror Plot To Kill His Critics

A U.S. Coast Guard lieutenant and self-described white nationalist was arrested this week and accused of plotting terror attacks that he hoped would spark a race war, according to the authorities, reports The New York Times.

In court filings, prosecutors described Lt. Christopher P. Hasson as a “domestic terrorist” who studied the methods of the Unabomber, the Virginia Tech gunman and other extremist killers, who had been stockpiling guns and drugs as he drew up a target list of prominent cable news journalists and Democratic politicians to be killed.

Prosecutors said the 49-year-old plotted his attacks from an office in Coast Guard headquarters, where the mission is to ensure the safety of the nation. They said he wanted “to murder innocent civilians on a scale rarely seen in this country.”

Hasson reportedly wrote a letter to a “known American neo-Nazi leader” in which he declared himself to be a “long time [sic] White Nationalist” for over 30 years, and called repeatedly for a “white homeland.”

According to the court document, Hasson reportedly listed MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough, CNN’s Don Lemon, CNN’s Chris Cuomo, and MSNBC’s Chris Hayes on his “hit list.”

He also reportedly targeted Democrats Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Maxine Waters, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, Rep, Sheila Jackson, Rep. Ilhan Omar, Sen. Kristen Gillibrand, Sen. Kamala Harris, and Sen. Cory Booker to name a few.

On January 17, 2019, “the defendant performed the following Google searches at the following approximate times:”

8:54 a.m.: “what if trump illegally impeached”

8:57 a.m.: “best place in dc to see congress people”

8:58 a.m.: “where in dc to congress live”

10:39 a.m.: “civil war if trump impeached”

11:26 a.m.: “social democrats usa”

In response to Hasson’s alleged plot to kill prominent journalists and Democratic politicians, MSNBC “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough noted: “Not a word from the president — that silence is not only deafening … it just speaks volumes.”

Late Show host Stephen Colbert also noted Trump’s silence, saying “This man is a homicidal, racist monster serving in our military. But don’t worry, the commander-in-chief slapped him down with a savage tweet of… nothing.”

“Silence. Hasn’t commented,” he said. “It makes sense. Hasson only wants to kill everyone on Earth. It’s not like he’s hosting SNL.”

Trump has taken the time to comment on the need for 5G and 6G technology in the U.S.
