Melania Furious After Being Blindsided By Report Trump Paid Porn Star To Stay Silent About Affair: Report

First lady Melania Trump was reportedly enraged by reports that her husband’s personal lawyer arranged a hush-money payment to a porn star over an alleged affair that took place the year after her marriage to President Trump, reports The New York Times’ Katie Rogers and Maggie Haberman.

Melania abruptly canceled plans to attend the World Economic Forum in Davos with her husband last week after The Wall Street Journal reported that Trump’s lawyer Michael Cohen allegedly paid adult film star Stormy Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, $130,000 just before the 2016 election to keep quiet about a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006.

Daniels told “In Touch” in a 2011 interview published last week that she had an affair with Trump after his marriage to Melania, which would have taken place just months after the birth of the first couple’s only child, Barron.

The NY Times reports:

Mrs. Trump and the president have had a tumultuous relationship at times over the years, but few episodes have roiled the peace as much as the news surrounding Ms. Daniels. The reports of a payoff blindsided the first lady, who was furious with her husband, according to two people close to the couple. She has kept a low profile since.

Melania made an unscheduled visit to Mar-a-Lago last week where she reportedly spent part of her short trip relaxing at the spa.

The first lady’s aides told the Times that she has been focusing on her “role and her family.”

Last week, Melania Trump marked the one-year anniversary of her husband’s inauguration by tweeting an image to mark the occasion that did not include the President, but rather was of herself, her arm linked with a military escort, at Trump’s inaugural swearing-in ceremony.

She posted that the past year had been filled with “many wonderful moments,” but she did not mention the President by name.

Clifford and Michael Cohen have denied the Journal’s report.
