President Trump reportedly suggested that Haitian immigrants “all have AIDS” during a heated Oval Office meeting earlier this year, reports The New York Times.
According to the Times report, Trump stormed into the June meeting, scolding his national security team and railing against the number of immigrants who had entered the country since his inauguration.
Trump complained that the flood of immigrants was making a mockery of his pledge to curtail the number of foreigners coming to America.
Reading from a list, Trump complained that 15,000 immigrants arrived from Haiti.
They “all have AIDS,” he exclaimed.
He read on, complaining that 40,000 people had arrived from Nigeria.
They would never “go back to their huts” in Africa he said, a pair of officials told The Times.
He also complained that Afghan immigrants came from a terrorist haven.
The White House denied to the Times that Trump ever used “AIDS” or “huts” to refer to immigrants from any country.
