‘Former’ Trump Supporter Caitlyn Jenner Says She’s Furious Over Trump’s Latest Anti-Trans Actions

Caitlyn Jenner praised then-candidate Donald Trump’s stance on women’s rights and LGBT equality issues in a June 2016 interview with Stat News.

When asked ‘Who better understands these issues, Democrats or Republicans?’, Jenner told Stat: “Everybody looks at the Democrats as being better with these issues. But Trump seems to be very much for women. He seems very much behind the LGBT community because of what happened in North Carolina with the bathroom issue. He backed the LGBT community. But in Trump’s case, there’s a lot more unknowns. With Hillary, you pretty much know what you’re gonna get with the LGBT community.

Now, Caitlyn Jenner is furious over the Trump administration’s recent anti-transgender actions.

“Trump administration’s latest in a string of attacks on trans people: trans students, trans service members, & now employment protections for trans workers. This systematic gutting of non-discrimination protections for trans people is a disgrace!” Jenner tweeted at AG Jeff Sessions and Donald Trump.

Back in April, Jenner balked at Tucker Carlson’s assertion that her support for Trump was “one of the braver” things she has done.

“I never actually came out and outwardly supported Trump. The media did that for me,” Jenner told Carlson.

“I’m on the Republican conservative side,” she added. “And he wound up being our candidate. And so certainly I was going to vote for him. He looked like he would be pretty good on all LGBT issues, which is important, because my loyalties do not lie with Donald Trump. My loyalties do not lie with the Republican party. My loyalties and what I am fighting for is my community, the LGBT community and particularly the trans issues that are out there, because there are many of them. And so that’s where my fight is. I thought Trump would be pretty good. But he’s kind of disappointed me in the first 100 days.”
