First lady Melania Trump issued an official statement attacking President Trump’s first wife Ivana for calling herself “the first lady” during a Monday interview on “Good Morning America,” saying “there is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex” and Melania “plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books.”
“I have the direct number to White House, but I no really want to call him there because Melania is there,” Ivana Trump, who was married to the then-New York real estate mogul from 1977 to 1992, told ABC’s Amy Robach while promoting her new book, “Raising Trump.”

“I don’t want to cause any kind of jealousy or something like that because I’m basically first Trump wife,” Trump continued.
“I’m first lady, OK?” she said.
Melania Trump’s spokeswoman released a statement attacking Ivana Trump’s comments as “attention seeking and self-serving noise.”

Melania “plans to use her title and role to help children, not sell books. There is clearly no substance to this statement from an ex,” her rep added.
The public war of words left “Watch What Happens Live” host Andy Cohen “speechless.”
