Sesame Street Just Sent This Powerful Message Supporting “Families Of All Shapes, Sizes, and Colors”

Over its 47 years on the air, the iconic children’s program “Sesame Street” has long promoted diversity among its puppets and their human counterparts.

On Friday, the show shared an image of Sesame Street resident Elmo alongside his colorful friends in a social media post to vocalize their support for “families of all shapes, sizes, and colors.”

“Sesame Street is proud to support families of all shapes, sizes, and colors,” the message read alongside a love heart emoji.

Fans expressed an outpouring of support for the inclusive message that comes during LGBT Pride month.

“THIS is why Sesame Street is the longest-running, best educational tv show! Thank you for continuing to make a huge difference!” wrote one fan on Facebook.

“The problem with the world today…is that kids don’t watch enough Sesame Street!” wrote another.

After calling PBS home for 45 years, Sesame Street inked a five-season deal with HBO. The 47th season of Sesame Street premiered on the cable network in January.

Thanks for the love Sesame Street!
