Chamber Of Commerce Exec Goes On Bizarre Homophobic Rant After “Last Man Standing” Gets Canceled

Madison Rivergate Chamber of Commerce executive director, Debbie Odom Massey, shared a bizarre homophobic Facebook rant last week after receiving the news that ABC decided not to renew Tim Allen’s sitcom Last Man Standing for a seventh season.

In her post, Massey said she felt discriminated against because ABC is “cramming same-sex making out into our homes” instead of sticking with non-LGBT shows like Last Man Standing,  which is popular with conservative audiences

Unfortunately for Massey’s same-sex conspiracy theory, ABC has also decided to cancel The Real O’Neals, a family sitcom about a gay teen who just came out of the closet.

“I can’t believe that I am supposed to be OK with shows like (‘Grey’s Anatomy’) or ‘Nashville’ or any other show that promotes LGBT blah blah blah.., Whatever!” Massey wrote in her Facebook post, which linked to a article about the cancellation of “Last Man Standing.” “Cramming same sex making out into our Homes! But I can’t watch MY FAVORITE show! ‘Last Man Standing’! Talk about discrimination!!”

Massey resigned her post on Monday shortly after the chamber’s board of directors voted to request her resignation, reported The Tennessean.

“I have known Debbie for more than five years and she is one of the hardest working, most dedicated individuals I have known,” chamber board chairman Ron Smith said in a media release. “I respect Debbie’s wish to resign her position and allow the Madison Rivergate chamber to move forward from this unfortunate event.”
