Police Officer Interrupts Two Men Attempting To Join The Florida Capitol’s ‘Grindr Mile High Club’

Two Florida men were caught red handed by a police officer as they attempted to join Tallahassee’s version of the ‘Grindr Mile High Club’ at the Florida Capitol last week, reports the Tallahassee Democrat.

An officer with Capitol Police went into a men’s restroom on the 22nd Floor to wash his hands at around 12:45 p.m on April 3, when he observed “two pairs of shoes in the handicap stall that were nowhere near the toilet or sink,” according to a Florida Department of Law Enforcement report.

The Tallahassee Democrat reports:

At about the same time, one of the men looked over the stall divider to see who’d come in. The officer heard what sounded like clothes being put back on and ordered the men, ages 20 and 21, to come out of the stall.

One of the men said they’d decided to hook up on the top floor at the Capitol after meeting on the gay dating app Grindr. He admitted to the officer they were having intercourse in the restroom stall, but he later denied making such a statement.

Neither man was charged in the incident because the officer did “not witness any lewd or lascivious behavior.”

They were escorted off the Capitol grounds and each issued trespass warnings for the Capitol Complex and several other state offices.
