Arnold Takes High Road In Perfect Response To Trump Gloating About His Low ‘Apprentice’ Ratings

Arnold Schwarzenegger took the high road on Friday after the soon-to-be commander-in-chief used his bully pulpit to mock the former Republican governor of California for his subpar ratings as the host of the New Celebrity Apprentice.

Schwarzenegger refused to respond by stooping to president-elect Donald Trump’s level after Trump Tweeted: “Wow, the ratings are in and Arnold Schwarzenegger got ‘swamped’ (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT. So much for being a movie star — and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich & Hillary.”

“There’s nothing more important than the people’s work,” Schwarzenegger said to Trump in his Twitter response. “I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’ll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings.”

Schwarzenegger followed up his tweets by invoking the wise words of President Abraham Lincoln about “the better angels of our nature.”
