First, we lost iconic pop singer George Michael on Christmas day, and then lost Star Wars legend Carrie Fisher on Tuesday at the age of 60. The following day, her mother, Hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds, suffered a stroke that ended her life at 84.
In the wake of so many major celebrity losses this year, one man has started a GoFundMe page to help protect beloved actress Betty White from vicious 2016.
“Help 2016 catch these hands if it goes anywhere near Betty White,” writes Demetrios Hrysikos, who created the page yesterday to raise enough money to buy a plane ticket to fly to Betty White’s home and keep her safe for the remainer of 2016.
“If she’s okay with it I will fly to where ever Betty White is and keep her safe till Jan 1 , 2017. Now , assuming she doesn’t want a strange Greek standing gaurd outside her door all monies will be donated to the Spartanburg little theater to help craft new stars of stage and screen to carry mantle of the legends that have left is this year.”
Fans have already raised nearly $8,000 as of Thursday afternoon.
