Nickelodeon Introduces Its First Married Gay Couple In The Most Adorable Way

Nickelodeon will make history this week with the introduction of its first gay, married couple on this Wednesday’s broadcast of the animated series “The Loud House.”

The cartoon, which follows 11-year-old Lincoln as he deals with being the only boy growing up in a household with ten sisters, will reveal that Clyde McBride has two dads.

In the clip, Lincoln and Clyde prepare for their first sleepover. Before Clyde’s arrival, Lincoln looks at the audience and says “This is it. Time to make history.”

Lincoln opens the door to reveal that Clyde has two dads, saying, “Hi Mr. McBride. Hi Mr. McBride,” but makes no big deal over it at all.

Clyde’s overprotective dads leave Lincoln with their son’s sleepover essentials—a sleeping bag, pajamas, white-noise machine, humidifier, dehumidifier, earplugs, inhaler, and allergy medication—and provide emergency phone numbers.

Before departing, Harold tells his son: “Remember Clyde, no nuts, no gluten, no sugar and be careful with orange juice. You know how you get with pulp.”
