Brothers Caught On Video Viciously Attacking Florida Man Because He Was Gay

Orlando police said a 32-year-old man who was viciously attacked by a mob of up to 10 people last month, including two two teenage brothers, was targeted because he’s gay.

The victim, who asked not to be identified for his safety, said he was jumped by about 10 people who were looking to settle a score with anyone in the neighborhood who happened to be gay after an earlier fight at the Callahan Community Center in Parramore.

Orlando police released cellphone video Friday afternoon that shows the mob of teens ambushing the victim while screaming slurs about his sexual orientation. The victim can be seen on the ground being punched and slammed with chairs before managing to break away, reports WFTV.

After a week of investigating, detectives determined brothers Deandre and Dennis Florence are two of the people in the video. The 14- and 16-year-olds were arrested on a host of charges, including a hate crime charge.

Investigators are hoping others are compelled to come forward with the names of everyone else involved.

The victim was not seriously hurt, authorities said. He said he had a tough time recognizing everyone because it happened so fast and there were so many of them.
