This Incredible Brazilian Gay Film Trailer Transcends All Language Barriers

The Way He Looks, translated from its original Portuguese title “Hoje Eu Quero Voltar Sozinho“, is a 2014 Brazilian coming-of-age film directed by Daniel Ribeiro.

The film is based on his 2010 short film I Don’t Want to Go Back Alone (Eu Não Quero Voltar Sozinho) and stars Ghilherme Lobo, Fabio Audi and Tess Amorim reprising their roles from the short.

The film premiered in the Panorama section of the 64th Berlin International Film Festival in February 2014, and was released in Brazil today.

Leonardo is a blind teenager dealing with an overprotective mother while trying to live a more independent life. To the disappointment of his best friend, Giovana, he plans to go on an exchange program abroad. When Gabriel, a new student in town, arrives at their classroom, new feelings blossom in Leonardo making him question his plans.
