Twitter has begun a gradual roll out of a major redesign of user profiles, and boxer Floyd Mayweather as well as Actor Zac Efron, are among the first to have their accounts upgraded to the new look.
The new profile setup is available today to a small group of users, including First Lady Michelle Obama, singer John Legend and actor Channing Tatum. If you start a brand new Twitter account today, you’ll start in with the new profile. In the coming weeks, Twitter will roll out the new features to everyone.
The major overhaul, which Twitter was testing in February, closely resembles Facebook’s user profiles, as Mashable points out:
According to Twitter’s official release, users will have the following new features:
Best Tweets: Tweets that have received more engagement will appear slightly larger, so your best content is easy to find.
Pinned Tweet: Pin one of your Tweets to the top of your page, so it’s easy for your followers to see what you’re all about.
Filtered Tweets: Now you can choose which timeline to view when checking out other profiles. Select from these options: Tweets, Tweets with photos/videos, or Tweets and replies.
